Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect from my first session?
New clients will fill out a form with some basic information and let me know what you want worked on. It can be physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, or a combination. I will then take a few moments to describe what I do during the Reiki session and give you a chance to ask any questions you might have. I want you to feel totally comfortable. After the session we will visit briefly about your session.
Is a Reiki session safe if I am under a doctor's care for a chronic or terminal illness, taking medications, or having other types of medical or holistic treatments?
Reiki is an exchange of energy and is perfectly safe. It cannot harm. It can be used on anyone regardless of health status. You can be under the care of a doctor, take medication & receive medical treatments for a chronic or terminal illness. Reiki will not interfere with any of those. You can also utilize other holistic treatments along with having Reiki sessions. The use of Reiki is becoming more mainstream in well known hospitals in the USA.
How should I prepare for my first treatment?
Reiki works best if you come well hydrated. I can give you a glass of water if you need you need to hydrate when you arrive. Hydration helps the energy flow. I will have you remove your shoes & all jewelry including watches, earrings, rings, and anything that might impede the flow of energy. You do not need to take your clothes off as you would for a massage. You can dress comfortably, but if coming straight from work, what you are wearing will be fine.
What should I expect from my first session?
Reiki is extremely relaxing. You may find yourself drifting off to sleep during the session. Most people do. Not to worry. You are still receiving the energy. Everyone has a different experience during and after the session. Some feel a difference right away, and others notice things up to a day or a week after. For those with chronic illness, it took you time to develop that illness, & it may take more than one or several sessions to notice a difference.
